For those of you who don't know, March is National Nutrition Month which is sponsored by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Their slogan this year is Eat Right, Your Way, Every Day. I am not a nutritionist or registered dietitian. I am simply a mom on a mission who's intention is to spread the word of healthy and nutritious eating & lifestyle choices. My goal is to educate and support those intending on living their optimal life right now while enhancing their well-being, focus, and self-confidence. At the heart of my goal is kids.

Eating proper and real food is so essential to a person's well-being - mind and body. We are a society so focused on fad diets and crazy workout regimens that if we just started focusing more on the type of foods we put into our body (and our children's bodies) weight wouldn't be such an issue anymore. Real Food - from farm raised beef, eggs and chickens, to vegetables pulled right out of the garden - is so essential for our nutrition. These products contain the dense minerals and nutrients our bodies need to thrive and believe it or not, they actually taste great! There is nothing better than strolling your local farmers market on a Spring day exploring all of the local produce that your town has to offer. I highly recommend you even take your kids with you - get them involved - because they're more likely to eat what you put in front of them if they're part of the deciding factor. Putting these real foods into your body will improve your mind, energy level, sleep patterns, and overall well being. You don't need to overhaul your routine completely, but if you swap out a few low-nutrient items for some fresh ones I guarantee you'll see a difference.

One thing I cannot stress enough to people I talk to is to drink more water. There is nothing else your body thrives off more than water. Water alone hydrates and cleanses your body each day. If you can switch out some of your daily beverages for a glass or two of water then you're headed in the right direction. Focus on you, you can't change the world in a day. By taking one step at a time, you certainly can Eat Right, Your Way, Every Day. I believe in you!
